Thanks for your interest in the Metal Detecting Passport (MDP)  

Everyone who hears about us asks 'What is the Passport?' .. and no we wont be sending you on your holidays! 
The MDP is an ID card issued to members that have signed up. This membership will give you access to exclusive permissions all around South Wales, which we plan to continue growing.  So if you have always fancied the hobby of Metal Detecting but struggle to find permissions, or even fed up with your current permissions or feel uneasy about joining organised digs, then the Passport is perfect for you.
You will get to meet many new faces whilst also being able to have access to members with a wealth of experience within Metal Detecting. The annual fee for the MDP is £60, upon receipt of payment the office will start to process your appliction and an ID card will be issued to you as soon as possible. In the meantime a temporary unique code will be given to registered members which will also be shared with landowners.  You will be given a PDF file of all available permissions along with the welcome pack. 
It's really simple once a member:
  • Step 1 - Decide what permission and when you would like to attend.

  • Step 2 - Contact coordinators  (information given upon complete application) to book you on with landowner for your required date and time.

  • Step 3 - Each permission is £12.50 per day - payable BEFORE being booked in by coordinators. This is payable to The MDP who balance up with landowners monthly. 

  • Step 4 - Enjoy the permission but please abide by the code of conduct set out in your welcome pack we attach to your membership form. Should you wish to join, please complete and return the form and please attach a photo for you ID badge. Payment details will be given after application has been recieved.
